Sony Pictures has moved its Untitled Cameron Crowe Project from December 25, 2014 to May 29, 2015. Here's what Sony Pictures chairman Jeff Blake had to say about the release date shift, commenting that director Cameron Crowe's movie is tailor-made for a summer release.

"Once we saw the film, we knew that it would make a perfect summer release. The movie is Cameron at his best."

The Untitled Cameron Crowe Project will now go up against Focus Features' Insidious Chapter 3 and Paramount's Monster Trucks on May 29, which is the weekend after the Memorial Day holiday. If it would have stayed in its Christmas Day slot, it would have gone up against Paramount's comedy sequel Hot Tub Time Machine 2, the Disney musical Into the Woods, The Weinstein Company's animated adaptation Paddington and the Universal true-story drama Unbroken.

Bradley Cooper stars in the Untitled Cameron Crowe Project as a military contractor who is overseeing a weapons satellite launch in Hawaii. He reconnects with a former flame (Rachel McAdams) before falling for an Air Force pilot (Emma Stone), who he teams up with to sabotage the launch. Danny McBride, Alec Baldwin and Jay Baruchel co-star.
