According to Variety, Cameron Diaz will star in Holiday, a Sony Pictures Entertainment comedy that Nancy Meyers wrote and will direct this fall.

The pic is Meyers' follow-up to the Columbia/Warner Bros. co-production Something's Gotta Give. Holiday will be the second film under the SPE deal she signed right after Meyers directed the Mel Gibson/Helen Hunt starrer What Women Want for Paramount.

Holiday is an ensemble romantic comedy with five central characters. Diaz, whose deal is now being negotiated, will play a woman with man trouble until she crosses paths with a woman from a small English village with a similar dilemma. Pic will be overseen by Columbia Pictures exec veep Amy Baer.

Diaz, who's expected to once again give the vocals for Princess Fiona in Shrek 3, also starred for Columbia in the Charlie's Angels films.
