After the success of this summer's Marvel blockbuster Captain America: The First Avenger, it was only a matter of time before a sequel was announced. It seems Marvel is planning on moving forward with Captain America 2, although it may hit theaters later than expected, according to star Chris Evans. Here's what he had to say below about when fans might expect Captain America 2 in theaters.

"They may wait until 2014 until they release the next Cap. Marvel has a lot of balls in the air, they aren't going to cannibalize their films."

We reported last month that Marvel secured the May 16, 2014 and June 27, 2014 release slots for two mystery movies, one of which could be Captain America 2. The actor also confirmed he is signed on for a total of six Marvel movies in all. He believes those movies will be split equally between three Captain America movies and three The Avengers movies, which means he likely won't pop up in other Marvel sequels.

"Out of those six films, if I pop up in one of those [other films], it counts as part of the deal. So if they needed me in a third Cap, and I say, 'Fuck you, give me $30 million,' well...they want to avoid that."

Before he dons the uniform for Captain America 2, Chris Evans can next be seen in the indie thriller Puncture, which opens tomorrow, September 23, and What's Your Number?, which hits theaters on September 30.
