With anticipation building for Marvel Studios' first Phase Three movie Captain America: Civil War, fans can get ready for this big screen adventure with a new "digest" comic. Earlier today, Marvel announced their solicitations for January 2016, a massive list of over 100 new comics that will be released during that month, one of which is Marvel Universe's Captain America: Civil War Digest. Take a look at the official description below, courtesy of Newsarama.

"The major players of 2016's biggest blockbuster showcase their skills in all-ages adventures! To save the Earth, Captain America must rescue the Red Skull from his oldest friend: the Winter Soldier! When the Time Stone affects Iron Man, can a de-aging Tony Stark take on dinosaurs? Black Panther shares a high-stakes trust exercise with Hawkeye, then teams with the Hulk to defuse Hydra's Madbomb! It's up to Falcon to save the day after a mysterious foe turns the Avengers into evil ghosts! When the Avengers "Hulk out," only Black Widow can rescue her teammates! Captain America and Iron Man must go undercover disguised as villains!"

If these stories sound familiar to you, then you're not mistaken. This digest comic brings together stories that originally appeared in Marvel Universe Avengers Assemble #3, #11 and #13, Marvel Universe Avengers Assemble Season 2 #4 and #6, based on the Avengers Assemble animated series and material from Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes (2011) #1 and Marvel Universe Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes #8. The stories were written by Christopher Yost, the screenwriter of Thor: Ragnarok, Elliott Kalan and Joe Caramanga. The cover was designed by Todd Nauck with penciling by Patrick Sherberger, Chris Jones and featuring screen capture images from Marvel's Avengers Assemble.

The comic will run 128 pages and cost $9.99 when it hits the shelves in January. It isn't known if any of these specific stories will be seen on the big screen when Captain America: Civil War hits theaters on May 6, 2016, but we'll have to wait and see. Even if these specific comic stories don't end up on the big screen, it will give fans who aren't familiar with the comics some new background information on these beloved heroes.

Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain. The massive cast also includes Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen and Chadwick Boseman.
