Last May, when production began on Captain America: Civil War, many were surprised when Paul Rudd was announced to return as Ant-Man in this Marvel Phase Three adventure. However, it started to make more sense after Ant-Man hit theaters with a post credit scene that tied into Civil War. As production was under way, there had been several rumors swirling that Ant-Man may transform into Giant Man, which is exactly what happened in this blockbuster, and today we have early concept art from part of this scene.

The artwork comes courtesy of artist Andy Park's Twitter, revealing that when he painted these keyframes, he thought, "Holy Cow we're gonna see this on film?!" Ant-Man transformed into Giant Man during the massive airport fight sequence between Team Cap and Team Iron Man. While Giant-Man certainly helped Team Cap get the upper hand, it was Spider-Man who used an idea from that "old movie," Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Spidey uses his webbing to trip up Giant-Man, in the same way Luke Skywalker used his tow cables to trip up the Imperial Walker in Empire Strikes Back.

This piece of concept art was first featured in the book Captain America: Civil War - Art of the Movie, but this is the first time the artwork has surfaced online. Last week, Andy Park revealed his early designs for another iconic character that was introduced in Civil War, Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther. Hopefully the artist will continue sharing his work through social media, as the countdown continues towards the home video release of Captain America: Civil War on Digital HD, Digital 3D and Disney Movies Anywhere on September 2 and on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, DVD and On-Demand on September 13.

When Captain America: Civil War arrives early on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD, viewers can join the nonstop action and pick their side-Team Cap, commanded by Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), or Team Iron Man, led by Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.). Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Sam Wilson a.k.a. Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Colonel James "Rhodey" Rhodes a.k.a. War Machine (Don Cheadle), Clint Barton a.k.a. Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Vision (Paul Bettany) and Wanda Maximoff a.k.a. Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), along with new recruit Scott Lang a.k.a. Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) and joined by two new additions to the MCU: T'Challa a.k.a. Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) and Peter Parker a.k.a. Spider-Man (Tom Holland).
