Now that Captain America: Civil War has wrapped production, fans are anxiously awaiting the teaser trailer. The first footage from Marvel's Phase Three adventure was shown to fans at Disney's D23 Expo back in August, but it remains to be seen when the rest of the public will get to see these heroes in action. While we wait for an official announcement, YouTube user mightyraccoon! has put together a wonderful fan-made opening credits sequence that should be able to tide you over until the trailer arrives.
Naturally, there is no actual footage from Captain America: Civil War, but this video, with animation from Saruhan Saral, created using Blender and After Effects, brings all of these heroes together in a unique way. The video is put together in the same style as Marvel's artistic end credits, giving fans brief glimpses of each character's abilities. What's interesting is this video posits that both sides may be battling over Spider-Man's (Tom Holland) allegiance, which makes sense since we still don't know what side he may be on.
This video also reflects concept art that revealed the heroes that will be fighting alongside Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.). Fighting alongside Iron Man is War Machine (Don Cheadle), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Vision (Paul Bettany) and Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman). On Team Cap, we have The Falcon (Anthony Mackie), The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp) and Ant-Man (Paul Rudd). It isn't immediately clear yet whose side Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) may choose yet.
Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.
The supporting cast is rounded out by Daniel Brühl (Baron Zemo), Frank Grillo (Crossbones), William Hurt (General Thaddeus Ross) and Martin Freeman, whose mysterious role has yet to be revealed. Captain America: Civil War is directed by Anthony Russo & Joe Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely.
