Disney has removed Mar-Vell's name from the official Captain Marvel site, leaving Jude Law's character with an identity crisis. Yesterday, Marvel Cinematic Universe fans were left confused after Disney's site for the upcoming movie labeled a picture of Jude Law as "Mar-Vell, the leader of Starforce." However, the studio decided to delete that bit of information from their website after the news began to spread like wildfire. Now the image reads "The leader of Starforce" instead.

Back at the end of November, an image of an upcoming Funko Pop! figure of Yon-Rogg found its way online through their official social media account, leaving many to believe that Jude Law is actually playing the villainous Kree officer. Soon after, Funko took that name down and had it replaced with "Star Commander." This leads one to ask a few questions about Captain Marvel and Law's true identity in the movie. It's entirely possible that the Yon-Rogg Pop! isn't even Law since there is a mask on the figure's face, though that seems pretty unlikely, especially since we didn't see a Pop! figure for Law's character.

Could Jude Law be playing both Yon-Rogg and Mar-Vell in Captain Marvel? Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige had previously indicated that the movie will be making some pretty big changes from the comic book source material, and that would be a pretty huge change, since those are two separate characters. Plus, Yon-Rogg hates Mar-Vell in the comics and goes out of his way to stop him. Law could be playing the ultimate double agent in the movie, which may have just been ruined by Funko and Disney, respectively.

When asked about his Captain Marvel role, Jude Law would neither confirm nor deny that he was playing Mar-Vell and quickly changed the subject. Looking back, this was the first sign that something weird was going on. While he wouldn't confirm who he is playing in the movie, Law did give a brief overview of what his character is all about, leaving things pretty vague. He had this to say.

"He is driven by a belief in the divine leadership of the Kree people. So he's almost a devout warrior - unquestioning, conservative, but inspirational."

We're back to the guessing game at this point, but it does certainly look like Jude Law could be playing both Mar-Vell and Yon-Rogg in Captain Marvel. There have been concept art leaks that say that he's Mar-Vell, but only the image is real, not the names on top of the characters. As for the LEGO figure that has him listed as Mar-Vell, that was proven to be fan-made. And any other official sites running with the Mar-Vell name were all going off of the official Disney site. Things are about to get pretty interesting, that's for sure. You can head over to the official Captain Marvel site at Disney to see the updated information.
