Sin City: According to Variety, Carla Gugino has been tapped by Robert Rodriguez to play a role in his Dimension Films drama Sin City.

She has also been tapped to star in the revival of Arthur Miller's After the Fall, which is set to open July 29th at the Roundabout Theater. Play was first done in 1964, and has been revised by Miller.

Gugino will play a lesbian parole officer for Rodriguez, who previously directed her in three "Spy Kids" movies. She begins work in Austin, Texas, next week, acting in a story arc that is expected to include Bruce Willis and Mickey Rourke. Film is an adaptation of the Frank Miller graphic novel series, and an all-star cast will be populating the roles.

Gugino then will star opposite Peter Krause ("Six Feet Under") in the Miller play about a tortured man who probes past mistakes in his life in an attempt to heal himself in the present. Gugino will play the role of Maggie, a sexy, vivacious and troubled singer the protagonist falls in love with.
