Variety reports that Cary Elwes has been cast as a lead in Paramount's Untitled Ivan Reitman Comedy.

He will star opposite Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher.

Elwes will play a physician who works with the Portman character and soon develops a flirtatious relationship. The project was previously known as "Friends With Benefits". It focuses on whether two longterm friends can have a purely sexual relationship and not fall in love. Reitman is directing from a script by Elizabeth Meriwether.

Paramount hopes to release the film January 7.
