Casino Royale crushed the international box office, according to Variety, by generating $44.7 million at 6,770 theatres in 54 overseas markets for this past weekend. The film has now cashed in $196.5 million internationally and $312.4 million worldwide.

Thanks to impressive European holdovers, Casino Royale took in more than the combined grosses of the next four Hollywood movies -- Flushed Away, The Departed, Borat and Happy Feet.

With openings next weekend in Australia and Mexico plus a track record of respectable staying power, Casino Royale looks likely to top the worldwide Bond film record of $431 million set by Die Another Day.
