It's been 15 years since Tom Hanks said a tearful good-bye to his volleyball best friend Wilson in director Robert Zemeckis' blockbuster drama Cast Away. The pair were finally reunited this past Wednesday. As unexpected as it was charming, this was an event that will surely make any film fan smile.

The fateful meeting happened this past Wednesday. Tom Hanks was seated at the New York Rangers game inside Madison Square Garden when he was put on the Jumbotron. Politely smiling and waving to the crowd, someone threw him Wilson, and the magic of an unexpected reunion occurred for the world to see. Shortly there after, both Hanks and Wilson began to chant and cheer on the Rangers.

In 2000's Cast Away, Tom Hanks stars as Chuck Noland, a FedEx executive who must transform himself physically and emotionally to survive a crash landing on a deserted island. Completely alone, he befriends a Volleyball that he finds with some of the washed up FedEx packages, giving the inanimate object a face with blood from his own cut hand. The two become quite well acquainted over the years, until Chuck finally sets sail off the island and looses Wislon on the trip back home. It looks like the two pals are back together now, though. Enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime reunion between these old friends as it happened lived:
