The Longest Yard: An open casting call for Paramount Pictures/Columbia Pictures' "The Longest Yard," starring Adam Sandler, Chris Rock and Burt Reynolds, is going out to all football players with organized team experience. Applicants chosen on Monday or Tuesday, June 21 or 22, 2004, will be eligible to try out for a role in the Happy Madison/MTV Films Production, scheduled for nationwide release in 2005.

Directed by Peter Segal, "The Longest Yard" is the story of pro quarterback Paul Crewe (Adam Sandler) and former college champion and coach Nate Scarboro (Burt Reynolds), who are doing time in the same prison. Asked to put together a team of inmates to take on the guards, Crewe enlists the help of Scarboro to coach the inmates to victory in a football game "fixed" to turn out quite another way.

Open to football players between the ages of 18-35, who are not seeking NCAA eligibility through a college program, the casting call will be held between 2pm & 7pm at the Marriott Hotel, 3635 Fashion Way, Torrance, CA 90503. Those interested must be advised that if selected, participation in the film may jeopardize their amateur status. In addition, selected core players must be available to attend weekly practices and filming sessions as dictated by the production schedule, which begins late June through October.
