A few weeks ago, we reported that this current season of 24 could be the last season and now some new information lends some weight to that story. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that a casting call that recently went out seems to indicate this will be the last season of the Fox series.

The casting call, which was for the role of a United Nations secretary general, had the following disclaimer at the end of the notice:

"These are the final episodes, so if some of your name people would like to do something on the show, this is the time for them to do it."

The fate of the Kiefer Sutherland series has not yet been determined by Fox, which has already renewed such hits as Fringe, Glee and Bones. It was also said that 24's ratings are down 10 percent from last year.

We'll continue to keep you posted on the status of 24 as soon as we have more information.
