We reported back in February that Nicolas Cage and Ryan Reynolds were teaming up for a new animated film and now two actresses have joined the cast as well. Heat Vision Blog is reporting that Catherine Keener and Emma Stone have joined the voice cast of The Croods.

Keener will portray the title family's mother, Ugga, while Stone will lend her voice to the daughter, Eep. Cage and Reynolds have already signed on as the father of this prehistoric clan, who is trying to get his family back on their feet after a devastating earthquake took their home. The family runs into the nomad character, Gy (Reynolds), who sheds some light on their world with his forward thinking and also has affections for Stone's character.

Chris Sanders (How to Train Your Dragon) and Kirk De Micco (Space Chimps) are both directing from the script that they co-wrote, which was based on a previous script by De Micco and John Cleese.
