For fans of Channing Tatum’s Magic Mike movies, the actor has made their dreams come true by promising that the third film in the franchise is all about the dancing. While some movies focus on character development and meaningful storylines, according to the star, Magic Mike’s Last Dance will concentrate on giving fans what they want: more of Mike in action. The Magic Mike series is based loosely on the experiences of Tatum in his younger days stripping in Florida, and the films turned him into the star he is today, and it was surprising when last year the announcement was made that the third film was in development.

According to those reports, original Magic Mike director Steven Soderbergh and writer Reid Carolin will be back for what is presumably the last outing for Tatum’s stripper. Speaking to Variety in a new interview, the actor teased what was to come in the new movie, including “less character, more dancing.” He revealed:

“This one’s going to be a full dance-icle. We’re going to swing for the fence. I’m going to dance as hard as I’ve danced in any movie other than Hail, Caesar! I want this movie to be filled with joy and fun. Everybody is like, "Less character, more dancing." So I’ve listened. “

Despite Tatum’s comments, it may not be quite like that when the movie finally arrives, and it could just be the actor playing with those who have called out the previous films for their lack of depth. Director Sodenbergh previously said that Mike would be in a relationship in the new movie, and it would play a part in his character development through the film. However, he also confirmed that Magic Mike’s Last Dance would “take the dancing to another level.” If that is the case, then everyone will be happy.

Magic Mike Came From Nowhere To Be A Huge Hit

Magic Mike’s Last Dance will not be getting the cinematic release that some would have hoped for but will instead be heading straight to HBO Max later this year. However, with the film delivering more dance routines than ever before, there will likely be a big audience willing to give Mike’s last run out a try when it drops on the streaming platform. The threequel joins Magic Mike and Magic Mike XXL, as well as the HBO Max dance contest Finding Magic Mike, bringing Tatum’s attributes to his adoring audience. However, it will not be the only time Tatum is seen on screen this year.

This month sees the release of Dog in theaters, a movie that Tatum both stars in and directed, and next month he will be seen with Sandra Bullock in the adventure movie, The Lost City. The actor dropped out of the industry in 2017 to take a break, but it looks like he is now back and making the most of it.
