The new series Charlie's Angels has been cancelled by ABC, after airing just four episodes. An ABC representative indicated the network will continue to air the remaining four episodes of Charlie's Angels which were shot, but production will shut down immediately.

Charlie's Angels never could find a foothold in its Thursday 8 PM time slot. Ironically, the show did post a modest ratings increase for last night's Episode 1.04: Angels in Chains, climbing to a 1.3 rating this week, with 6 million viewers overall, up from a 1.2 rating last week. It seems the slight uptick was too little, too late, though.

Rachael Taylor, Annie Ilonzeh, and Minka Kelly starred as the title characters, with Ramon Rodriguez portrayiing Bosley and Victor Garber providing the voice of Charlie.

It isn't known yet what ABC plans to replace Charlie's Angels with, once the show completes its run.
