Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt is in early talks to join Jurassic World. No character details were given, but it is the same role that Josh Brolin was in talks for last month, although a deal was never finalized.

The talks between Universal Pictures and Chris Pratt are said to be in the very early stages, and the actor would have to iron out any possible scheduling conflicts with the sequel and his NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation, if it is renewed for another season. The actor doesn't have any other film projects lined up at this time.

The production is also courting Irrfan Khan (Life of Pi,The Amazing Spider-Man) for a supporting role, although no details were given for that character either. Bryce Dallas Howard, Nick Robinson and Ty Simpkins are the only confirmed actors on board thus far, although we reported last month that a casting call gave Idris Elba top billing in the sequel.

Colin Trevorrow is directing from a script he co-wrote with his Safety Not Guaranteed writing partner Derek Connolly.

Chris Pratt will next be seen in the DreamWorks comedy Delivery Man and the upcoming indie Her.
