The world is still stunned over what many believe is the biggest political upset of all time, when Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton to become the President-elect of the United States of America. Barring an impeachment or any other strange turn of events, the American public will have to wait four more years to decide whether or not they want to vote Donald Trump out of office, and it seems that one contender has already announced his candidacy, Chris Rock. The actor-comedian announced just days after Donald Trump's upset that he plans to run for the highest office in the land in 2020. Ironically enough, he actually has more Presidential experience than Donald Trump does, in a manner of speaking.

Chris Rock took to Twitter on Thursday to announce his candidacy with a brief statement, "I'm gonna run in 2020 wish me luck." That message was accompanied with an altered movie poster for his 2003 comedy Head of State, which features the hastag #Rock2020. The film follows a Washington D.C. alderman who is picked to replace a Presidential candidate, who dies in the middle of his campaign.

While Chris Rock has never actually ran for President of the United States, the fact that he played one in a movie actually gives him more experience than Donald Trump as POTUS. Donald Trump was often criticized for his complete lack of political experience during his divisive campaign. As we found out on Tuesday, that didn't stop him from getting the necessary votes from the Electoral College, although he did lose the popular vote to Hillary Clinton.

Chris Rock isn't the only celebrity that announced his desire to run for President of the United States of America. Back in August, during the MTV Video Music Awards, music superstar Kanye West announced his plans to run for President in 2020. While Donald Trump's victory confounded political pundits across the world, some believe that his celebrity status played a significant role in his election, which could make things interesting if both Chris Rock and Kanye West do in fact run against Donald Trump. It was also announced last week that Hellboy and Sons of Anarchy star Ron Perlman is also intent on running for office in 2020.

Chris Rock was most recently seen in the Netflix holiday comedy special A Very Murray Christmas and he also hosted this year's Academy Awards telecast. Over the weekend, he made a surprise appearance during a Saturday Night Live sketch, which was hosted by Dave Chappelle. Take a look at Chris Rock's tweet below, as we wait for more on his impending candidacy in four more years.
