Chris Zylka Is Eugene Flash Thompson in ‘Spider-Man’

Chris Zylka is Eugene Flash Thompson in Spider-man In this age of instant media and social networking, news travels fast. Chris Zylka recently revealed that he won a part in Marc Webb's Untitled Spider-Man Reboot via his personal Twitter account. Now, an inside source who contacted Comic Book Movie has revealed that Zylka, best known for his roles in the TV series 10 Things I Hate About You and the MTV horror franchise My Super Psycho Sweet 16, will be playing Eugene "Flash" Thompson.

Thompson is Peter Parker's high school nemesis, a football player who mercifully picks on "Puny Parker". Flash is also a great admirer of Spider-Man, and after serving time in the United States Army, Eugene and Peter actually become friends. Joe Manganiello played the character in Sam Raimi's 2002 Spider-Man, where he was boyfriend to Kirsten Dunst's Mary Jane. As many know, Manganiello is currently inline to play Clark Kent in Warner Bros. upcoming Superman reboot. It is not known how big a role Flash will have in the upcoming Untitled Spider-Man Reboot.

In further news, a new Sony Pictures audition tape has surfaced for "Untitled Teen Action/Adventure Film", which The Hollywood Reporter confirmed is the title Sony is currently using for its Untitled Spider-Man Reboot. The child actor in question is Stuart Allan, and once you get past his hilarious introduction, you will see him auditioning for the role of "Billy" in what is a scene between Dr. Curt Conners (aka The Lizard) and his son, which confirms that Rhys Ifans is indeed playing the villain The Lizard in this particular installment. Which we pretty much knew already.

You can watch Stuart Allan's audition below (or "I can tell you about it when I see you!"):

The Amazing Spider-Man was released July 3rd, 2012.
