The film is an adaptation of a novel written by author Joan Didion and centers an American women named Charlotte Douglas that travels to a fictional Central American country on the hunt for her 19-year-old daughter. The story is told through the eyes of an American anthropologist, who tries to decipher the meaning of Charlotte's trip.
The project is being produced by Marcia Weiss and was adapted by Joyce McKee and Rachel LeMin.
