Back in 2013, filmmaker Don Mancini returned to his beloved Child's Play franchise to write and direct the sequel, Curse of Chucky, the franchise's first installment since 2004's Seed of Chucky. It seems that we'll be getting yet another dose of Chucky in the near future with Chucky 7, which is bringing back Curse of Chucky stars Jennifer Tilly and Fiona Dourif, the daughter of Brad Dourif, who voices Chucky. Unfortunately, not much is known about the story. Although the director did tease that they may film in South Africa.

Just over a year ago, Don Mancini teased on Twitter that he was writing the script for Chucky 7, but the filmmaker never revealed any further updates until this week. Don Mancini's first tweets included Jennifer Tilly's Twitter handle, but earlier today, Fiona Dourif sent out a tweet about packing for South Africa. The filmmaker responded that she should "just bring the wheelchair, I'll bring the blood."

Curse of Chucky was set after the events of Seed of Chucky, following Fiona Dourif's Nica, a young woman forced to a wheelchair since birth. She has to regroup her sister, Barb and her brother-in-law, Ian for a funeral after the death of her mother. While dealing with Barb, Ian, along with their 5-year-old daughter, Alice, Nica receives an odd package - a creepy doll. After people start showing up dead, the fearless Nica soon suspects that the creepy doll is much more than just a doll. Chucky 7's IMDB page has the following plot rundown, which also teases the return of Jennifer Tilly's character Tiffany, Chucky's ex-wife.

"Chucky returns after the events of Curse of Chucky to continue terrorizing his wheelchair-prone human daughter, Nica. Meanwhile, the killer doll has some scores to settle with his old enemies, with the help of his former wife."

Curse of Chucky was produced by Universal 1440 Entertainment, a home video division of Universal Pictures which produces straight-to-video sequels. The division, which recently produced The Man with the Iron Fists 2, Tremors 5: Bloodlines and the upcoming Kindergarten Cop 2, is listed as the production company on Chucky 7, although we don't know when production may begin, or if the company has a release date mapped out.
