UPDATE: Police have confirmed that the incident in the following story happened over a Clown mask similiar to one used in The Purge movies. High school sophmore Christian Torres had the clown mask pushed up on top of his head, and it was not pulled down over his face during the stabbing. At the time of the initial report, it was believed that the killer was wearing the clown mask. 29 year-old Avery Valentin-Bair has been charged with first-degree murder in the case, and is now locked in jail. The earlier reportes had onlookers claiming that both the victim and the killer were wearing the clown mask. It is since been confirmed that Torres was the one wearing the mask, which caused a controvery in the neighborhood due to the recent clown sightings sweeping Eastern parts of the U.S.

Original Report: The creepy clown phenomena is continuing to sweep through Eastern America as swiftly as Hurricane Matthew has bombard Florida. What started as an innocent joke has increasingly grown more terrifying. And now the first murder is being linked to the scary hoax that started in the Carolinas, and has since spread to areas of New York.

Police are on the hunt for a killer in a clown mask after a Pennsylvania teen was stabbed to death. This report comes from Fox News. The incident happened in Eastern Pennsylvania. And the victim was only 16 years old.

Police arrived on the scene early after a fight broke out, and now the authorities are trying to suss out who exactly stabbed the young man to death. Apparently, the assailant was wearing what can only be described as a clown mask. The brutal killing took place this past Sunday night at 8:30 pm. The brawl went down in Reading, which is just 50 miles northwest of Philadelphia. Berks County District Attorney John T. Adams issued this warning to the Reading Eagle.

"We urge anyone who was there to contact the Reading police. Someone was wearing a clown mask and a fight broke out. Anyone who knows anything about this, please contact the Reading police."

It isn't known if this incident is directly linked to the killer clown sightings that have spread like some sort of plague across the East Coast, or if this is an isolated incident. Officials responded to reports of an individual who was laid out on the front porch of a local home. By the time they arrived, there was a huge crowd in front of the street. The victim has been identified as 10th grader Christian Torres, who attends the local Reading High School.

At this time, Reading Police Chief Andres Dominguez Jr. claims that there are several different suspects that are being eyed in the case. He explains this about the death.

"I believe the issues got out of control. Everyone in the neighborhood knows each other."

It appears that this is the first scary clown related murder to happen since news of the clown sightings began to spread earlier this summer. At first, many believed these sightings to be part of a viral stunt for either Rob Zombie's new horror movie 31 or early marketing for next year's adaptation of Stephen King's IT, which features the iconic Pennywise the Clown as its main villain. At this time, there is still no clear answer as to who is behind these clown sightings. And now, they have only gotten scarier as they've turned to murder while continuing to grow.
