Marvel's The Avengers star Cobie Smulders, who played S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill, revealed that she is in talks to join the TV series Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D., if ABC picks up the pilot that is currently in production. Here's what she had to say about joining the show, revealing that her commitment to the Fox sitcom How I Met Your Mother is not an issue.

"The commitments to [How I Met Your Mother] don't affect it. And I can't really say but there are definite talks about it."

The actress also returns as Maria Hill in the Marvel Phase II sequel Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Here's what she had to about the secretive nature of Marvel Studios, revealing that she hasn't seen a full script yet.

"I've seen parts of it, but yeah I don't know much. This is Marvel! They don't let you know anything. It's very watermarked scripts, heavily watermarked. Yeah, they don't let you know like the day of, but they are very secretive and I think they are still figuring stuff out."

Joss Whedon is directing the Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot episode from a script he co-wrote with Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen.
