Columbia Pictures has just picked up the rights to the independent comic book The Boys. According to Variety, Columbia Pictures will develop the series into a feature adaptation with producers Neal H. Moritz, Ken F. Levin and Jason Netter.

The Boys was created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. The comic book series follows a CIA squad, known as The Boys, whose job is to keep watch on the proliferation of superheroes and, if necessary, intimidate or eliminate them.

Columbia Pictures has not yet announced when they plan to start production on The Boys.
