Marvel Studios hit Comic-Con 2012 hard today with huge surprises from Iron Man 3. Iron Man/Tony Stark himself, Robert Downey Jr., showed up unannounced to oversee the children's costume contest and entertain the massive crowd of fans that gathered in Hall H. Director Shane Black, executive producer Jon Favreau and Don Cheadle were also onhand to take Comic-Con by storm. Check out photos and videos from the events below.

Marvel Studios has also launched the official website for Iron Man 3 at Marvel.com/IronMan3. The site only features a gallery with two previously-released photos, a link to the sequel's Facebook page, and a form to register for updates, for now. Be sure to check back for more updates as we near closer to the May 3, 2013 release date.

In other Iron Man 3 news, Stephanie Szostak (Dinner for Schmucks) has joined the cast in an unspecified role. Here's what the actress had to say about the production so far.

"It's a thrill to be part of the incredible Iron Man franchise. Production has been incredibly exciting."
