Ninja Turtles promises awesome fight sequences! There are legions of fans who still adore Kevin Eastman's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated TV series and the original comic books. Many of those fans have expressed dismay that the new Ninja Turtles reboot is tweaking too many aspects of the turtles, especially with the new alien origin that producer Michael Bay revealed back in March.

Well, Kevin Eastman traveled down to Comic-Con this year to put fans' minds at ease, claiming that it's the best movie in the franchise yet!

"From what I've seen, it's easily the best Turtle movie yet. We're talking The Raid: Redemption-style fight scenes. We're talking about epic Rise of the Planet of the Apes sort of effects."

We reported back in June that Pararmount pushed the release date from Christmas Day 2013 to May 16, 2014, because the studio wasn't happy with the screenplay by André Nemec and Josh Appelbaum. Kevin Eastman confirmed that the release date shift was not due to the studio's unhappiness regarding the project.

"A lot of people are worried we pushed the release date from December to May, but the 30th anniversary of the Turtles is in May, so it worked out perfectly."

He also responded to the negative outcry over "Teenage Mutant" being dropped from the title, revealing he is embracing the change.

"I know that Michael and his group really like that and that Paramount was supportive of that, so I think that it's great. I grew up reading 'Captain America' and 'The Avengers' and all that stuff, and over the course of the comic book history, since 'Avengers' has been around, how many times has it been reinvented, reformatted, restructured, replatformed? Every person that's grown up inspired by that material wants to put their stamp on it a little bit. It just keeps getting better and better, and to have that opportunity is pretty awesome."
