Fanboy favorite director Guillermo del Toro hit the Hall H stage today to give the fans a first look at his haunted house thriller Crimson Peak, which doesn't hit theaters until October 16, 2015. While the footage itself hasn't made its way online yet, Legendary did release a video of the filmmaker giving fans a tour of the Crimson Peak Gothic Gallery Experience at Comic-Con, which offers fans a sneak peek at some of the sets being used in the thriller. Take a look at the video below, then read on for a description of the footage.

The footage starts by showing several different areas of the haunted house, with parts of the floor littered with dead flies. Tom Hiddleston narrates the teaser with the following monologue.

"A house as old as this one becomes in time a living thing. Timber for bones and winds for eyes and sitting here all alone. It starts holding onto things. Keeping them alive when they shouldn't be. Some of them good, some are bad. Some should never be spoken about again."

The footage ends with a sinister voice uttering, "My child," along with a shot of Mia Wasikowska, laying terrified in her bed before a black hand grabs her shoulder.

The filmmaker also revealed why he wanted to return to the horror genre.

"I wanted to make a movie that can blend two sides of my personality."

He added that the film is a "gothic romance," while praising Legendary for allowing him to make the movie he envisioned.

He also teased that next year, he'll be bringing one of the cast members to San Diego.

"Next year you'll get Tom f---ing Hiddleston."

The panel ended with the director trying to get the fans involved, asking them to help convince Legendary that he should make Hellboy 3 and At the Mountains of Madness, which resulted in riotous applause from the Hall H crowd.

We'll keep you posted if the footage surfaces online later today, so stay tuned for more updates regarding Crimson Peak.
