‘The Avengers’ Confirmed for New York Comic-Con

New York Comic Con (NYCC) is proud to announce Marvel Studios, for the first time ever, will participate in this October's NYCC. Marvel Studios will present a special event in NYCC's IGN Theater - Presented by Sprint on Saturday, October 15th from 6:30-7:30 PM, a high-profile panel focused on the upcoming feature film Marvel's The Avengers. Marvel Studios will debut never-before-seen footage from The Avengers, and panelists will include Kevin Feige (Producer), Chris Evans (Captain America), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Clark Gregg (Agent Coulson), and Cobie Smulders (Agent Hill). The Avengers is scheduled for release on May 4th, 2012.

The sixth annual New York Comic Con will take place October 13-16, 2011 at the Javits Center in Midtown Manhattan. NYCC, which attracted 96,000 attendees in 2010, celebrates comics, movies, television, toys, games, and the popular arts from around the planet. Tickets are now on sale via the website, with limited 4-Day tickets remaining.

‘Portlandia’ and ‘Todd Margaret’ Head to NY Comic-Con 2011

IFC's hit comedy series, Portlandia and The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret will make their first ever New York Comic Con appearances for two back-to-back panels on Sunday, October 16th starting at 11:00am.

Portlandia's ( creators, writers and stars, Fred Armisen, Carrie Brownstein and Jonathan Krisel will appear to discuss the show's highly anticipated second season and take questions from the audience. They will also unveil a special sneak peek from season two. The panel will be moderated by actor and comedian Seth Meyers. Portlandia is set to make its return to IFC in January 2012 with a slew of new characters and notable guest stars along with some of last season's favorite residents.

Comic-Con 2011 Recap: 158 Exclusive Interviews, 135 Stories, and 308 Videos

It's been one full week since a billion sexy nerds descended upon San Diego for their annual Comic-Con event, which has become the premiere Hollywood launching pad for just about everything in the way of entertainment. This was a strange year, as no one property walked away from the grit, glitz, glamour, and geek sweat of the experience better for showing off its wares to what has become a very bored public.

SDCC 2011 wasn't without incident, though. The scuffles in and around the convention center floor have gotten more intense in recent years. Back when Twilight made its San Diego debut, a young, passionate tweenage girl was hauled away in handcuffs for aggressively picketing the casting choice of Robert Pattinson in the role of Edward Cullen. Last year an attendee stabbed another audience member in the eye with a pencil after fighting over a seat. This year's big brouhaha actually involved one of the stars of, quite possibly, the biggest comic book movie making a splash at SDCC 2011.

SDCC 2011: Second ‘Tron: Uprising’ Trailer!

Disney XD released new footage from its upcoming animated series Tron Uprising at San Diego Comic-Con this year, ahead of its Summer 2012 premiere. The footage shown in San Diego has been released online, featuring the voice of Elijah Wood as the program Beck. Click on the video player below for this new look at Tron Uprising.

Beck, a young program who becomes the unlikely leader of a revolution inside the computer world of The Grid. His mission is to free his home and friends from the reign of the villainous Clu 2 and his henchman General Tesler. Beck will be trained by Tron - the greatest warrior the Grid has ever known. Tron will not only teach Beck the fighting skills he needs to challenge this brutal military occupation, but will be a guide and mentor to him as he grows beyond his youthful, impulsive nature into a courageous, powerful leader. Destined to become the new protector of the system, Beck adopts Tron's persona and becomes the archenemy of Tesler and his oppressive forces.
