This weekend, we'll get to experience another terrifying supernatural case from the files of Ed and Lorraine Warren when The Conjuring 2 hits theaters. While fans will get to watch this horror sequel later on tonight in sneak preview screenings, the film opens nationwide today in Brazil. To celebrate this release, director James Wan teamed up with a Brazilian TV show entitled Programa Silvio Santos, for what may go down as one of the scariest pranks of all time.

James Wan himself introduces this epic prank in the video which debuted on Programa Silvio Santos' YouTube, where he reveals that the Brazilian people's love of "Pegadinhas" (translated to English as "gotchas") helped inspire this prank, which uses actual scenes from the horror sequel in a terrifying real-life setting. The prank's setup is that a number of caregivers have been called in from an agency. These women are met by an actress pretending to be a young girl's mother, revealing to these unsuspecting victims that her daughter has a serious health condition. These women are lead into the daughter's bedroom, and told to give her medicine when an alarm goes off.

When these women, of all different ages, try waking young Maria, this possessed girl springs into action, while a crew behind-the-scenes starts turning over the numerous crosses on the wall, causing pieces of furniture to move on their own. While each of these three women have different reactions, with one older woman screaming for this possessed child to "burn," they're all equally terrified, especially when the final twist is revealed at the end. Even though we know it's a prank, and quite an effective one at that, it's still quite terrifying.

Director James Wan brings this supernatural thriller to the screen with another real case from the files of renowned demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren. Reprising their roles, Oscar nominee Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson star as Lorraine and Ed Warren, who, in one of their most terrifying paranormal investigations, travel to north London to help a single mother raising four children alone in a house plagued by malicious spirits. This movie is based on the paranormal activity that took place between the years 1977 and 1979, at the Hodgson house in Brimsdown, Enfield, England, which is said to be the most documented case of paranormal activity in history.

The supporting cast includes Frances O'Connor, Shannon Kook-Chun, Jennifer Collins, Madison Wolfe, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Simon Delaney and Franka Potente. The Conjuring 2 is set to arrive in theaters nationwide June 10, 2016. The thriller will go up against Universal's Warcraft and Lionsgate's Now You See Me 2 in theaters this weekend. James Wan directs from a script by The Conjuring writers Chad Hayes and Carey Hayes. Take a look at this epic prank inspired by The Conjuring 2 below.
