Who's that familiar looking man in the cardigan sweater, with the friendly face and kind word for everyone? It's America's favorite neighbor, Mister Rogers, one of the most honored and beloved figures and one of the greatest innovators in all of television.

Every day for nearly 40 years, Mister Rogers has been inviting us, his television neighbors, to join him in his Neighborhood. Now, with Anchor Bay Entertainment's two new Mister Rogers' Neighborhood DVD and home video releases, "Adventures in Friendship" and "A Day at the Circus," you can welcome him into your home anytime and share his gentle, warm-hearted, positive messages with the entire family.

"Mister Rogers' Neighborhood is timeless and endearing," said Joanne Rogers, Fred Rogers' wife. "Fred's great gift was his incredible ability to communicate to children in a way that was direct and demystified some of life's most perplexing and greatest challenges. We are thrilled that, for the first time, people will now be able to bring the Neighborhood home on DVD to enjoy whenever they want."

The Mister Rogers' Neighborhood DVD and VHS titles, recommended for children ages two and up, each focus on specific life lessons and feature two cherished 30 minute episodes from the series. The DVD releases, the first ever for Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, are also loaded with games and activities, and other fun bonus features, as well as an exclusive booklet with special care-giving tips from the expert staff of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.

In addition, both the DVD and VHS are available with exclusive custom bonus toys. "Adventures in Friendship" includes an on-pack wooden Neighborhood Trolley and "A Day at the Circus" includes a Speedy Delivery Truck. Additionally, while supplies last, a special Collector's Edition of "Adventures in Friendship" is also available with a custom Mister Rogers red cardigan sweater wrapped around the DVD. The suggested retail prices for these new titles are $16.98/$17.98 for the DVD and DVD with on-pack bonus items, and $12.98/$14.98 for the VHS/VHS with on-pack bonus items.

About Fred Rogers

Communicating at a pace that is comfortable for young children and based on widely accepted principles of child development and psychology, Fred Rogers' carefully structured programs help his television neighbors feel safe, calm and understood, with an overall objective of strengthening children's sense of self-esteem.

As fads in television and society change, the basic developmental tasks of early childhood remain constant. Still airing daily on PBS in virtually all U.S. markets, the ageless values seen in Mister Rogers' Neighborhood remain the gold standard of how children's programming can be used to enlighten, educate and improve the social behavior of children. Generation after generation, the series continues to win the love and trust of children and their parents, along with the critical acclaim of teachers, educators, pediatricians, child development specialists and television peers.
