Creepy clowns are a mainstay of the horror genre and we are about to be treated to a brand new one to haunt your nightmares in the near future. Next year we will be getting a new version of Pennywise the clown in IT, but Crepitus, an upcoming independent horror movie, will be looking to give Pennywise a run for his money. Don't believe us? Then why not take a look at this exclusive teaser for Crepitus courtesy of Ginger Knight Entertainment along with a few previoulsy released teasers?

Horror icon Bill Moseley will be taking on the title role of Crepitus in the movie, which should give die-hard horror fans a reason to look forward to it. While Bill Moseley may not be a household name, horror fans will recognize him from classics like Night of the Living Dead, Army of Darkness, Repo! The Genetic Opera and House of 1000 Corpses.Executive producer and star of the movie Lance Paul says that his own fear of clowns made him want to get involved with the project and that getting Bill Moseley for the part was a dream come true.

"From the very beginning Crepitus had me. An intrinsic fear I've always had was of clowns. So when Crepitus came along I had to be involved! From day one reading the script, the only actor I could see embodying Crep has been Bill. So when it happened, it was like my nightmare had became reality and that made me smile."

The teaser for Crepitus showcases a lot of very unsettling and dark imagery packed into a short timeframe. Outside of getting a very brief but super creepy glimpse of Crepitus the clown, the teaser also features some other very unsettling horror tropes, such as a very creepy kid speaking in a monotone voice with some ominous dialogue, as well as a dark hallway and some light bulbs that don't seem to be working properly. Here is the official synopsis for Crepitus.

"17-year-old Elizabeth and her younger brother, Julian, are thrust into circumstances more terrifying than life with their abusive, drunken mother when they are forced to move into their deceased grandfather's house. Frightened beyond belief, they are forced to learn horrible things about their family history. Nevermind the ghosts in the house, there is something far worse that takes an interest in them - a cannibalistic clown named Crepitus."

Crepitus is being directed by Haynze Whitmore and stars Bill Moseley, Lance Paul, Raiden Moore and Caitlin Williams. The movie is set for a prime Halloween release on October 15, 2017. Be sure to check out the exclusive teaser for Crepitus for yourself below.
