Careful! MAJOR SPOILERS lie ahead!

Frank Grillo may play one of the few good guys in this summer's thriller The Purge: Anarchy, but when it comes to the Marvel Universe, he's as bad as they come. His Crossbones character was introduced in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and though the man otherwise known as Brock Rumlow was left for dead at the end of that franchise sequel, the actor is very optimistic that Crossbones will return in Captain America 3.

Speaking with Collider at The Purge: Anarchy junket, Frank Grillo teased his villain's probable resurrection, claiming everything that Marvel does on screen is there for a reason.

"I'm cautiously optimistic that you will see me in the not too distant future in the next installment of Captain America."

While Crossbones started out as an ally in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, he soon turned to the dark side, and he took quite a beating for this decision. He wasn't left in great shape, but that didn't worry Frank Grillo at all.

"Very early on the [directors] said, 'Look, this is an origin film for this character. We're gonna discover who this is and this is a big movie with a lot of moving parts, but we're gonna discover you in this film and, you know, here's the information about who Brock Rumlow turns into...And so we've had multiple discussions about what comes after that, that thing. So, you know, it's obvious Rumlow is covered in rubble and burned to crisp at the end, but you see he's still there. They don't do that for no reason."

How will Crossbones cover up his scarred body? Frank Grillo has an idea.

"He needs a costume! Coincidentally it could be a mask with a crossbones on it."

Are you excited about the possible return of Crossbones in Captain America 3, or do you want to move onto other new characters?
