According to Variety, Rogue Films has set Dan Fogler, the Tony-winning star of "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee," for the lead in laffer Balls of Fury. The pic was written by "Reno 911" creators Thomas Lennon and Ben Garant. Garant will direct.

Fogler will play an accomplished Ping-Pong player who's disgraced on the world stage and relegated to using his prowess to make a living as a Vegas act -- until he's enlisted by the CIA to make a comeback.

Lennon also is expected to play a key role in the film, which will shoot next spring.
