We reported back in October that a Hitman sequel was moving forward but it wasn't quite clear if the film's star will return. Now Deadline New York is reporting that it still isn't clear if Timothy Olyphant will return for Hitman 2, but Fox has set Daniel Benmayor to direct the film.

Benmayor, who recently made his feature directorial debut with Paintball after directing commercials, is on board and it was said that Fox is gearing towards a fall start date for the film. However, with Olyphant's starring role in the new hit FX series Justified, which was recently renewed for a second season, it is still up in the air as to whether Olyphant would reprise his role as Agent 47. The site does report that Fox still does hold an option on the actor for the sequel, though.

Kyle Ward is writing the script from the film, which was said to take elements from the Hitman 5 video game. We'll be sure to keep you posted on any news of Timothy Olyphant's involvement on Hitman 2 as soon as we have more information.
