20th Century Fox reboots Daredevil with writer David James Kelly As Marvel's The Avengers impresses overseas, Marvel's stable of superhero characters continues to dominate the news. We know that 20th Century Fox is rebooting Daredevil with director David Slade. Now they've hired David James Kelly (who has no substantial film credits to his name) to pen the screenplay for this latest Marvel outing.

The storyline of this new Daredevil incarnation is rumored to be based on Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli's comic book story arc Born Again, which finds the Kingpin uncovering blind lawyer Matt Murdoch's red-suited alter ego, and using that information to destroy him.

There is no set production start date at this time. It's likely that Daredevil won't hit theater screens until at least 2015, with 20th Century Fox already moving on more X-Men movies and a reboot of Fantastic Four.

No casting has been mentioned as of yet, either. So that begs the question: Who should play Daredevil? Is Ben Affleck too old? Too tied to the first movie, which wasn't received well by critics? How about The Vampire Diaries' Ian Somerhalder? Supernatural's Jensen Ackles? Josh Duhamel seems like a good fit, so does his Transformers: Dark of the Moon buddy Tyrese Gibson. What do you think?

Daredevil is in development .
