Earlier this week, Netflix renewed their hit TV series Marvel's Daredevil, less than two weeks after all 13 episodes of the first season were released on the streaming service. Of course, the new season won't debut until around this time next year, so it's hard to say what might be in store for the fans in Marvel's Daredevil Season 2. Empire recently caught up with The Man Without Fear himself, series star Charlie Cox, who revealed that he wants to see a few iconic Marvel characters pop up in Hell's Kitchen in 2016.

"I have to be careful because we just got commissioned so I have no idea who is going to turn up. Based on the show we've created, which is very grounded in reality, I'd like to see Punisher maybe show up, a little bit of Elektra maybe. I wouldn't mind Black Widow making an appearance, and you can't think about Daredevil for too long without thinking of Bullseye. I don't know when or if or how that would happen, but it'd be cool if it did."

Charlie Cox explains that production will begin on the second season during the second half of this year, with the show debuting around this time next year. The actor also reveals when he thinks the other Netflix shows such as Marvel's Luke Cage, Marvel's Iron Fist and The Defenders will debut.

"We'll begin shooting in the second half of the year. It'll be the same timeline as the last show, so Marvel's Daredevil Season 2 will come out about this time next year. Again, I'm imagining all this, but they'll probably do Marvel's Iron Fist or Marvel's Luke Cage at the same time, followed by the other one [of the two] in the first half of 2016 and then maybe The Defenders in the second half of 2016 or the beginning of 2017."

In a separate interview with Screen Rant, Charlie Cox added that he would also like to see Marvel characters Spider-Man and White Tiger appear on the show.

"In the [[Brian Michael] Bendis/[Alex] Maleev series there's a really wonderful series, a few issues, where Matt Murdock is defending the White Tiger. And the reason I really love that is because he's defending a superhero, he's defending the White Tiger, but he's also defending himself and he's talking about himself. That is just thrilling on so many different levels. I don't imagine this will be the case, but I love it when Spider-Man pops up, and there's one great issue where Matt Murdock has to defend Daredevil and so Peter Parker puts on his suit for him so he can sit in the dock. Other than that, I'd like Elektra to turn up."

Of course, it's now much more feasible that Spider-Man could pop up in Marvel's Daredevil, since he will be introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with, most likely, Captain America: Civil War. However, that doesn't mean an appearance on Marvel's Daredevil is necessarily in the works, because Sony is also making a new Spider-Man stand alone movie, set for release in 2017.
