Darren Aronofsky to Direct ‘Hobgoblin’ for HBO

Darren Aronofsky to direct HBO's Hobgoblin pilot Ever since Darren Aronofsky dropped out of directing The Wolverine, the big question has been, "What is he going to do instead?"

Well, while he preps for his epic biblical retelling Noah, he is going to helm the pilot episode of HBO's latest drama series Hobgoblin.

Hobgoblin is a fantasy adventure that follows a group of con men and magicians during World War II, who use their skills to battle the supernatural forces unleashed by Hitler. Michael Chabon (John Carter) wrote the pilot script alongside his wife Ayelet Waldman.

HBO is prepping Hobgoblin for a 2012 debut.
