Russell Crowe's Noah will be released March 28, 2014 Paramount Pictures has handed out a March 28, 2014 release date for Noah, director Darren Aronofsky's revisionist Biblical tale. As of now, no other movies are set for release on that date.

We reported back in February that Russell Crowe is in talks to play the title character, although it isn't known if a deal has been officially sealed yet. The epic puts a fresh spin on this story from the Bible, where Noah forms a distaste for how the humans are treating God's creation of Earth.

Darren Aronofsky will direct from a screenplay he co-wrote with Ari Handel. Paramount Pictures will distribute and co-finance alongside New Rengency. Production is scheduled to begin this June.

Noah was released March 28th, 2014.

@justatadmatt actually i believe, if i'm not mistaken, he dropped out of the wolverine for personal reasons because he was going through a divorce or split with rachel weisz. i met them both in upstate ny at a supermarket where i worked and aronofsky was really cool, weisz didnt seem to want to be bothered in the slightest, and her credit card was declined, which was kinda funny. also met vera farmiga and a few others there.

Awesome news. I can't wait to see how dark/depressing this movie is going to be!

Can't wait for this, but that's almost two years if they do start in June.
