Paramount Pictures has handed out a March 28, 2014 release date for Noah, director Darren Aronofsky's revisionist Biblical tale. As of now, no other movies are set for release on that date.

We reported back in February that Russell Crowe is in talks to play the title character, although it isn't known if a deal has been officially sealed yet. The epic puts a fresh spin on this story from the Bible, where Noah forms a distaste for how the humans are treating God's creation of Earth.

Darren Aronofsky will direct from a screenplay he co-wrote with Ari Handel. Paramount Pictures will distribute and co-finance alongside New Rengency. Production is scheduled to begin this June.
