After directing Jennifer Lawrence to her second Oscar nomination in Silver Linings Playbook, director David O. Russell is reuniting with the actress by signing on to make The Ends of the Earth. The actress has been attached to the project since August.

Argo screenwriter Chris Terrio wrote the script, based on the true story of an oil tycoon who lost everything after engaging in an affair with his adopted daughter. Jennifer Lawrence will play the daughter, Lydie Marland, although the oil baron Ernest Marland has not been cast yet. Here's what David O. Russell had to say about working with Jennifer Lawrence again.

"Jennifer possesses a self-deprecating humor that made all of the cast and crew feel at ease. She is that kind of person. She is the most dedicated person I know. She is devoted to her family, and they have been the true inspiration for her character and integrity. Her acting is effortless, and she always makes it look easy."

Todd Black, Steve Tisch, and Jason Blumenthal are producing through their Escape Artists company. Production will likely begin after the director wraps on the Untitled David O. Russell Project, which also has a Silver Linings Playbook connection. Bradley Cooper signed on to star back in July, with Jennifer Lawrence joining the cast just last week.
