The Rule of Four: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. Pictures has tapped screenwriting newcomers David Posamentier and Geoff Moore to adapt the best-selling thriller "The Rule of Four."

The duo are not strangers to Hollywood. Before becoming screenwriters, Posamentier and Moore were executives at production companies. Posamentier worked at Jersey Films, and Moore was at Andrew Lazar's Mad Chance. They quit their jobs six months ago and wrote a spec called "Veteran's Day," which attracted UTA and Kaplan/Perrone. The duo's take on the novel beat out other more established writers, a rare move for such a high-profile studio project. The book, by Ian Caldwell and Dustin Thomason, details the story of four Princeton students who are on the verge of cracking the secrets behind the Hypnerotomachia Poliphili, a 15th century Renaissance text that points the way to a fabled Roman treasure. When they get too close, people start dying.
