The CW unveiled the first trailer for Legends of Tomorrow at their upfront presentation last week, which surprised some fans since it featured a character who hadn't been previously announced, The Flash's Harrison Wells/Reverse Flash (Tom Cavanagh). The character was seen in a time sphere, which makes sense since we know the show will deal with time travel. But today we have some even more intriguing details. A new photo from the set has surfaced, from Harrison Wells' scene, which features the helmet worn by the very first version of The Flash, Jay Garrick.

The photo appears to be legit, since we can see Tom Cavanagh in the time sphere like he was in the trailer, but it isn't clear what the significance of Jay Garrick's helmet could be to the show. Of course, while the spinoff features several characters from both Arrow and The Flash, it's certainly possible that Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) will pop by from time to time, although they won't be regular fixtures on the series. With that being said, the time travel element present in the show could be used to bring in Jay Garrick, giving the spinoff a Flash of their own.

It's also possible that the helmet is just an Easter Egg for the fans, but The Flash actress Danielle Panabaker recently revealed in a Reddit AMA that she is "excited about the potential of Jay Garrick." Does this mean Jay Garrick will be a part of The Flash or DC's Legends of Tomorrow? It's too soon to tell now, but check out the set photo below, and stay tuned for more details.
