The success of Deadpool is quite unprecedented, breaking box office records left and right, earning $135 million in its opening weekend. It has now earned over $300 million domestically and $700 million worldwide. Deadpool 2 is moving forward, with director Tim Miller expected to return. Most sequels go even bigger than their predecessor, which can be troublesome with the stakes being continually raised. ComicBook.com recently caught up with Tim Miller, who says that the follow-up doesn't need to be "bigger".

"I don't think bigger is better. You tell a story that's organic to the character. Deadpool's world doesn't mean you have to go bigger. I don't think the fans of the movie like it because we had big effects. It had a lot of heart, had a lot of humor and a main character that's different than anything else that was out there. (Going bigger with Deadpool) wouldn't be honest to who he is and why people like him."

Back in August, months before Deadpool hit theaters, Tim Miller hinted that the iconic character Cable may be featured in the sequel, which was already in development at that time. At the very end of Deadpool, Ryan Reynolds returned in an end credits scene where he confirms that Cable will be featured in Deadpool 2. The character hasn't been cast, but last month, Avatar star Stephen Lang expressed his interest in playingCable. When asked if he has listened to any of fan comments or other suggestions about bringing this iconic Mutant to life, Tim Miller had this to say.

"Yeah, you listen to it, but it's like if you're a Republican or a Democrat. If you have an idea of what you want government to be, then that's kind of what you hear - to support your own ideas. I have an idea of what Cable should be from reading the comics. So, someone in Des Moines, Iowa, may have a different idea of Cable from reading the comics. I may not like his idea. I might read it, but I may not do it. I would say I listen to all of them, but I don't look to that to guide me. I look to the comic and why people like these characters."

Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are coming back to write the script for Deadpool 2, with Ryan Reynolds returning as the Merc With the Mouth. It hasn't been confirmed if other Deadpool stars like Morena Baccarin, Gina Carano, T.J. Miller and Brianna Hildebrand will return for the sequel. There is still no official word that Tim Miller is returning to direct. Who do you think should play Cable in Deadpool 2?
