A report surfaced last week that revealed the popular X-Men character Colossus will be featured in 20th Century Fox's comic book adaptation Deadpool. No details were given as to how he fits into the story, or if Daniel Cudmore, who played Colossus in X2: X-Men United, X-Men: The Last Stand and last year's X-Men: Days of Future Past, will reprise his role. The actor revealed on his Twitter page last week that he couldn't comment on his involvement in Deadpool, but today, the actor revealed that he will not star in the superhero spinoff.

Of course, 20th Century Fox still hasn't confirmed that Colossus is even part of Deadpool yet, but the fact that the actor wouldn't comment on Friday before releasing a statement today likely means that the character will be involved. A casting call released yesterday described two male characters, dubbed "Ridge" and "Albert" as "Big, muscular and dangerous," which are all attributes that Colossus certainly possesses, although there is speculation that the Ridge character is the villain Ajax.

There is still very little we know about the Deadpool story, except that Ryan Reynolds is playing the title character, Gina Carano is playing Angel Dust, T.J. Miller is portraying an unspecified comedic sidekick and Ed Skrein is playing another mysterious character, possibly the villain. Tim Miller is directing from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and with production to begin next month in Vancouver, we should hear more details very soon.
