The anticipation for Deadpool is growing to a fever pitch as the Marvel movie continues through pre-production at Fox. Some never thought this standalone adventure would see the light of day, but Ryan Reynolds has shared the first photo from the set, teasing the mercenary's bright pink mask. Of course, it won't be that color in the finished film. And to ease some of the worry, the actor has shared his photo in sepia tones.

In this preproduction photo, we also get to see Deadpool's gloves. But this is just the beginning stages of the costume starting to come together, and as evident in the leaked footage, some of Deadpool's onscreen appearance will be CGI. No need to worry just yet. Production is set to start this spring, with the movie in theaters almost exactly one year from today.

Ryan Reynolds first appeared as the anti-hero Deadpool in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The spinoff will be the first of three X-Men movies set to hit theaters next year, with X-Men: Apocalypse coming in May 2016, and Gambit arriving in October. Ryan Reynolds will be joined by T.J. Miller as the sidekick and Ed Skrein as the villain. Fox is currently on the hunt for the adventure's leading lady.
