After a record-breaking theatrical run, where it became the highest-grossing R-rated movie worldwide, Deadpool debuted on Blu-ray and DVD last month. The superhero adaptation actually debuted in theaters on Valentine's Day weekend, a fact that the studio exploited a number of times with unusual romance-themed promo material that positioned it as a http://movieweb.com/deadpool-movie-poster-romantic-comedy/RomCom. Now that the movie is available on Blu-ray and DVD, it's apparently become a big hit with romantics, according to Amazon.

A Reddit user posted a new photo that showcases Deadpool's Amazon page, which reveals that it's the #1 best seller in their Romance category. The movie has even beaten out traditional romances such as Pride + Prejudice + Zombies, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, Purple Rain and The Danish Girl, which were listed as runners up in that section. Then again, it would make sense that this movie broke yet another convention, since it shattered expectations for an R-rated superhero movie, en route to becoming the second biggest movie domestically ($362.7 million) and fifth biggest worldwide ($772.3 million).

Obviously, the movie wasn't crafted as a romantic drama by any means, but the romantic relationship between Wade Wilson/Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Vanessa Carlysle (Morena Baccarin) did lie at the heart of this movie. Still, the fact that Deadpool is a best seller in romance could either be a hilarious misprint, or proof that the movie is considered to be a romance by some fans. Even if it is a "romance," it's most certainly an unconventional one, especially when it comes to the sex scenes.

Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

The Merc With the Mouth will return in Deadpool 2, which will also feature the iconic comic book character Cable, which some think could lead into the X-Force movie 20th Century Fox has been developing for quite some time. We don't know for sure if Morena Baccarin's Vanessa Carlysle will be back for this sequel, but it certainly seems likely since director Tim Miller, writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are expected to return along with the rest of the main cast. While we wait for more details on Deadpool 2, take a look at this photo that shows Deadpool is a best seller in romance on Amazon.
