Just days before debuting at the Toronto Film Festival last year, the first trailer arrived for the indie drama Demolition. Fox Searchlight Pictures is now getting ready for the April 8 release, and today we have the second trailer with new footage from this drama, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Naomi Watts and Chris Cooper. This dramatic comedy continues Jake Gyllenhaal's run of off-beat characters such as a disturbed videographer in Nightcrawler and a troubled boxer in last year's Southpaw.

Davis (Jake Gyllenhaal), a successful investment banker, struggles after losing his wife in a tragic car crash. Despite pressure from his father in law Phil (Chris Cooper) to pull it together, Davis continues to unravel. What starts as a complaint letter to a vending machine company turns into a series of letters revealing startling personal admissions. Davis' letters catch the attention of customer service rep Karen (Naomi Watts) and, amidst emotional and financial burdens of her own, the two form an unlikely connection.

With the help of Karen and her son Chris (Judah Lewis), Davis starts to rebuild, beginning with the demolition of the life he once knew. The supporting cast is rounded out by Heather Lind, Wass Stevens, Polly Draper, Hani Avital, Brendan Dooling, Celia Au and Tom Kemp. Demolition has been given an April 8 release date, going up against Before I Wake, The Boss and Hardcore Henry.

Jean-Marc Vallée (Wild, Dallas Buyers Club) directs from a script by Bryan Sipe (The Choice). Although he doesn't have a role in front of the camera, actor John Malkovich serves as a producer on Demolition. Sidney Kimmel, Lianne Halfon, Thad Luckinbill and Trent Luckinbill also serve as producers.

Jake Gyllenhaal most recently starred in Everest, and he is also set to star in Nocturnal Animals alongside Amy Adams and The Man Who Made It Snow. Do you think Demolition could be Jake Gyllenhaal's latest indie hit? Check out the new trailer for Demolition, and stay tuned for more as we inch closer to its April 2016 release in theaters.
