Actor Denzel Washington is in talks to star in the Universal Pictures action drama 2 Guns for director Baltasar Kormákur (Contraband).

The story centers on a DEA agent and an undercover naval officer who are ordered to investigate each other. They both realize they've been double-crossed by the mob, who they were both stealing money from. Mark Wahlberg has already been attached to star, although it isn't clear which roles Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington will play.

Baltasar Kormákur is directing 2 Guns from a screenplay by Blake Masters, which is adapted from the graphic novel written by Steven Grant. Universal will distribute the project domestically, with producers Marc Platt, Andrew Cosby, and Ross Richie seeking international distribution and co-financing at the Berlin Film Festival.

No production schedule was released for 2 Guns.
