In a story from The Wrap, Dermot Mulroney, Kyle Gallner, Michael Angarano and Stephen Root are presently in talks to co-star in Kevin Smith's political horror film Red State.

Also, Oscar nominated actress Melissa Leo is also eyeing the project.

Red State stars Michael Parks (Grindhouse) and is somewhat based on Reverend Fred Phelps of the hateful Westboro Baptist Church.

Smith has not yet finished the script but the director says he wants "recognizable unknowns" in some of the script's main roles. He is doing this because these actors will most likely appear in smaller supporting roles.

In addition to this, via his Twitter account, Kevin Smith said that Red State will begin shooting on September 22.
