We reported back in December that the new Jackass film will be shot in 3D and it seems this won't be the same kind of 3D audiences have been enjoying with films like Avatar. Deadline New York is reporting that Jackass 3D will employ the 3D approach that breaks the plane of the screen and will appear to have objects coming out into the audience. Here's an excerpt from the article describing one of the 3D stunts in the film that won the Paramount execs over.

Insiders say some of the footage displayed how Steve-O, Johnny Knoxville and cohorts doing their usual pratfalls, but the stunt that really won the day was called "The Heli-cockter." One of the crew-I believe it was "Party Boy" Chris Pontius-tethered a remote control-operated helicopter to his penis, and sat there grinning as the copter swung in circles, flying out at the spectacle-wearing Paramount executives who green lit the film.

Jeff Tremaine, who directed the first two films, is back in the director's chair and the usual on-screen suspects - Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Ryan Dunn, Steve-O, Jason Acuña, Chris Pontius, Preston Lacy, Dave England, Ehren McGhehey - are starring in the film. Paramount hasn't announced a release date for the film as of yet.
