Emmy and Golden Globe Award winning actor Edward James Olmos joins recently announced special guest stars, Colin Hanks and Mos (formerly Mos Def) in the cast of the Emmy nominated Showtime drama series Dexter for Season 6. Olmos will play a brilliant, charismatic professor of religious studies. Olmos joins a distinguished list of seasonal guest cast that has included Jimmy Smits, John Lithgow and Julia Stiles. Production on Dexter begins May 25 in Los Angeles and will premiere on Showtime this fall.

Edward James Olmos is an acclaimed actor, director and activist. Among his most memorable roles are William Adama in the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica, Lt. Martin Castillo in Miami Vice, teacher Jaime Escalante in Stand And Deliver, patriarch Abraham Quintanilla in the film Selena, Detective Gaff in Blade Runner, and narrator El Pachuco in both the stage and film versions of Zoot Suit. His first big break was a starring role in Luis Valdez's play, Zoot Suit, in 1978. The play moved to Broadway and led to a Tony nomination. He received a Best Actor Academy Award nomination for his starring role in Stand And Deliver. Other credits include American Me (his directing debut), The Green Hornet and appearances on The West Wing and American Family.

Hall (Golden Globe and SAG Award winner) as a complicated and conflicted blood-spatter expert for the Miami police department who moonlights as a serial killer. The show has received multiple Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for best television drama series, as well as a prestigious Peabody Award in 2008 and was twice named one of AFI's top ten television series. The show also stars Jennifer Carpenter, Desmond Harrington, C.S. Lee, Lauren Vélez, David Zayas, and James Remar.
